Elevator Motors

The motor is the heart of the elevator. We use Italian motors from Alberto Sassi and Sicor in two types: motors installed in an overhead machine room, and machine-room-less (gearless) motors installed inside the shaft.

In a Machine Room or Inside the Shaft

Machine-Room Motors

Installed in a machine room above the shaft; the room needs cooling and ventilation to keep the motor performing well.

Machine-Room-Less (Gearless) Motors

Installed inside the elevator shaft, they save space and up to 40% in energy, and run quietly without vibration.
